About NorthSpring Valuation
Independent business valuation informed by experience, perspective, and professional judgment.
NorthSpring Valuation specializes in independent business valuation for closely held companies.
The firm provides objective opinions of value that support estate and tax matters, ownership transitions, strategic planning, and other significant business decisions.
At NorthSpring, valuation is viewed as more than a financial exercise. Understanding a company's value requires consideration of the many factors that influence it—from financial performance and market conditions to operational realities, and management plans.
By bringing these interlocking pieces together, NorthSpring helps clients better understand the value of what they have built and the factors that drive it.
ACCREDITED APPRAISERMeet Martha
An architect of models and analysis
My journey to business valuation was part preparation and part opportunity.
Growing up around the construction industry through my father's work as an engineer and builder, I developed an early fascination with how things are made and how individual pieces come together to create something greater than the sum of their parts.
For a time, I considered becoming an architect. I was drawn to the balance of art and science, creativity and structure. While I ultimately pursued business instead, I discovered the same principles at work in finance, strategy, and analysis.
Throughout my career, I have worked across a wide range of industries, helping organizations evaluate opportunities, develop long-term plans, and make informed decisions through thoughtful analysis. That experience led me to business valuation, where I found a discipline that naturally brings together financial analysis, business strategy, professional judgment, and real-world context.
Today, I often think of myself as an architect of models and analysis. Every business has its own story, framed by financial performance, operational decisions, industry dynamics, and ownership goals. My role is to bring those company building blocks together to develop an independent, well-supported opinion of value.
Business valuation is often described as a fusion of both art and science. It takes a unique talent to skillfully integrate both. The most meaningful results come from a careful and competent balance of the two.
